First off, thank you so much to being a true inspiration to all of us. I have been following you for a very long time now and it your drive to draw and do art never ceases to amaze me.

Now onto my question:

I recently started getting more seriously into digital art and was wondering what safety measures you use to keep your digital drawings safe. What I came up with as of now, is uploading the files to my Cloud/Dropbox but the space is somewhat limited and I was thinking about investing into an external hard drive, but have also managed to drop and damage those before..

For you as a professional digital artist, which is the best/safest way for you to protect your artwork?

Thank you in advance! Wishing you all the best! ❤️

First of all thank You for the kind words! <3

I use gdrive as a daily backup space for work stuff - just in case my computer doesn’t fire up in the morning i just throw in there all current working files. If the art is especially demanding i save it in two .psd copies, just to feel calmer in case PS decides to go silly on me.

After the art is finished I store .psd master file, high res .jpeg and internet res .jpeg, and keep it both on my comp (on a separate drive than the system one), and on an external hdd.

Also once every couple of months I archive everything on a hdd i keep stored with all my documents and such, in case you know, the house in on fire and i have time to only grab my cats and my files, in that order.

ANYWAY, it probably sounds a bit paranoid but it saved me from some panic moments already XD

I got Dredge not too long ago too! It's an excellent little game, and I'm really looking forward to the dlc and photo mode that's apparently coming out at some point this year.

Yussss, I finished the game yesterday and it truly is a little gem. Really enjoyed it, the only complain being it could be a bit longer, so I’m very looking towards the dlc to fill the emptiness in my heart now lol.

Still have some fishes to catch till then :)

Also adding this here, cos same:

Your art is magnificent! I actually use it as a bit of reference for face proportions I like to emulate, you’re a great inspiration to me as a person who does art as a hobbie, have a great day! ☀️

awwww, thank You for the kind words, Anon, I’m glad You find the stuff I’m posting inspiring <3

Have a great day!

Hello! Would you consider opening up an Etsy for selling things like your printed bookmarks? I'd like to be able to support you and have your art around in my house in a small way. Cheers!

Sadly no. Making any sort of merch (especially hand printed one) and managing sales is far too much work for me to add to my to-do list. You can get my prints from Inprint or Redbubble if you’d fancy some tho :)

But thank You so much for Your interest and kind words!

What kind of tablet do you use for your digital art? Beautiful work btw.!❤️

Thank You!

I have a Wacom tablet, Citiq 24 HD (one of the old ones that weights like 30 kg and have no touch screens, pilots etc), that i got from some art grant back in 2015 i think? Been working without an issue since then, except for like, needing assistance if I want to move it lol.

I’m trying to get more comfortable with iPad and Procreate, but haven’t posted any works done on this one yet.

If you have one, how is your drawing routine? You’re such an huge inspiration and I got curious about that

Awww, thank You! it’s nice to hear this :)

I rarely stick to any actual drawing routine for longer now because of work / health / recurring burnout stuff, but in general it’s dictated by the sum of life activities so to speak. So usually i paint every second day (on days i don’t have full day of classes), I focus on stuff my freelance work or my current fixation is about at the given moment (like for example when i had to draw two dozens metal items i was doing metal studies or personal stuff that included metal elements etc), and I try, if possible, not paint when I’m tired.

Currently sort of a new routine is forming out, but I’m trying to approach it gently and without pressure, so one study a week and some drawing hours for either work or myself twice a week and on weekends.

That’s more or less what I think is like, a routine painting behaviour for me lol.

are you still a student or are you teaching perhaps?

I’m teaching, I’m 41 so long time done with being a student :)
